Caillou certainly is an odd little cartoon boy. Perhaps because the grandmother narrates EVERYTHING in the story, one can assume that the child has special needs. However, if you only focus on the cartoon plot, Caillou appears to be like other little boys who are exploring and learning about the world around them. Thus, Caillou is most likely not autistic.
