Prodigies are wondered at, studied and envied by people with average abilities. Even those who can do extraordinary thing with numbers, musical instruments or other mechanisms are awed by people who come by their gifts naturally and without study. Shakuntala Devi was one of those people. She was a math prodigy from India who could manipulate figures like no one else…she even bested computers with her calculating prowess. She died in 2013 at the age of 82, but no one knows whether she was autistic or not. Some people with mild autism are extremely gifted, but not all prodigies are autistic.
