One of the strangest events that ESPN offers coverage of is the yearly National Spelling Bee competition sponsored by Scripps. Rebecca Sealfon was a contestant who wowed audiences with her ability to spell and her strange habits while doing so. She had strange habits and tics that made her one of the most memorable people in the contests history and may be the reason that the Bee is so popular today (and the reason that ESPN televises it). Many speculated that she has autism, but there was never a definitive answer. Watching a recap of the 1997 Bee will make you think so though.
