Evgeny Kissin, a young concert pianist, has been considered “the most phenomenal prodigy of our time,” When someone, such as Kissin, is gifted at a very early age, there is a possibility of being a savant–a person with below average who has an exceptional talent. However, there are cases where a person with a high intelligence can be a savant and not display other signs of autism. As Kissin gets older perhaps it will be a little easier to determine if he is autistic or not.
