Actors portray characters who either are stated to have autism or the character has attributes that seem to relay that autism is a possibility. David Neilson has been portraying Roy Cropper for several years on the British soap opera “Coronation Street”. The actor himself is not autistic, but the character he portrays has been stated to have autism. Being able to portray someone with a disability though does not mean that the actor himself or herself has the disorder. The answer to the above question is no. This just means that David Neilson is a good actor and has studied his character minutely.
